Community Home Child Care
Our Community Home Child Care program is licensed by the Ministry of Education and offers nurturing child care in the safe, approved homes of our carefully selected, self-employed Home Child Care Providers across London and Middlesex County.
Each home child care program is unique, and varies in the activities, menus, and even hours provided. We work in partnership with parents and our approved caregivers to ensure each child experiences a stimulating, quality child care program, within a Provider’s safe home setting.
Our Home Child Care Providers offer programs that include:
- engaging play-based opportunities for learning
- active, outdoor child-initiated play
- nutritious meals and snacks
- caring relationships
- stability and consistency of having a relationship with only one caregiver
- individualized care in a small group setting that often becomes “a home away from home”
Our Providers have a professional commitment to quality child care and are certified in CPR and First Aid. All adults in the home have a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC). Home Child Care Providers are supported in meeting safety and quality standards and benefit from the professional learning resources, regular visits and ongoing support of our Home Child Care Coordinators, who are also Registered Early Childhood Educators.
Program planning is informed by How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years with a focus on child-initiated and learning through play.
